OverviewWe're looking for a Head of Paid Media to join the Good n Proper team. This is a senior role that sits at the heart of what we do. You'll lead paid media strategy across a range of B2C and B2B brands, own the channel thinking, and be the person our clients trust to tell them what's working and what needs to change.
This isn't a role where you'll be executing someone else's plan. You'll be setting it.
Here's what your day-to-day will look like (when you're at work anyway, there's no expectation for your Saturday to look like this):
- Lead paid media strategy across a portfolio of clients, spanning Meta, Google, and wherever else the audience actually is.
- Run and optimise live campaigns on an ongoing basis, optimising to make sure making sure everything that's in-market is performing as well as it can be.
- Own campaign performance end-to-end. Not just the numbers, but the story behind them and the decisions that follow.
- Manage significant advertising budgets and make smart, confident calls on how to allocate spend across channels and objectives.
- Be the senior point of contact for paid media clients. Build trust, manage expectations, and have the hard conversations when they're needed.
- Use audience research, competitor analysis, and data to shape campaign strategy, not just optimise what's already running.
- Write clear, confident briefs for creative teams and push back when amends are needed that’ll improve performance
- Stay close to platform developments and bring new thinking to the team before clients have to ask.
- Analyse performance and report in ways that are actually useful. Context matters more than dashboards.
- Help to raise the standard of paid media output across the agency, whether working with other members of staff or contractors
- Work closely with the Head of Content to improve our paid social output, linking it closer to organic social
- Champion best-in-class tracking and attribution so the results we report actually mean something.
- Champion the use of AI to both improve quality and efficiency of the agency’s work output
- Work with the Director on new business strategy, from pitching and proposition development to helping shape how we talk about paid media to prospective clients.
About You
Everyone's different. We love that. And we're not looking for someone to fit a mould. There are a couple of things we need you to bring, but other than that, we can't wait to meet your unique self!
If you have the below, we'd love to hear from you:
- A minimum of 5 years experience in paid media, with at least 2 of those in a senior or lead role.
- Deep hands-on experience across Meta and Google, with a clear point of view on when to use what and why.
- The ability to think strategically and communicate that thinking clearly, to clients and colleagues alike. Bin the jargon. Speak like a human.
- Proven experience managing client relationships at a senior level.
- A track record of managing large budgets and delivering results that matter.
- A natural knack for keeping ahead of platform developments and sharing that knowledge with the people around you.
- Experience working in an agency environment is preferred, but not essential if you can demonstrate everything above.
Benefits
- Flexible working hours, meaning you can start any time between 8 and 11am (you do you)
- Hybrid working (home, office, sofa, floor. Again, you do you). We just ask that you work from the office twice a week. If you want to do more, that's all good with us.
- Ability to work remotely for up to two weeks in every calendar year
- Two streaming services paid for every month (Netflix, Spotify, etc.)
- Matched pension - you pay into it, we'll match it on top of your normal salary. Be the responsible adult now that your future self would want you to be...🙄
- MacBook Air. Is Windows still a thing?
- We'll give you the time to develop the skills you want to know more about. If you're interested in something, go for it! Go down a rabbit hole.
- A fun, relaxed working atmosphere in an office space right next to The University of Leeds campus
- The option to do fun things with the team. Meals, drinks, coffee, outings. We like to do stuff.
