🔍 Head of Paid Social

📍 Location: Leeds

💷 Salary: Up to £60,000

🌟 Level: Head of Department

🏢 Agency: Performance Agency

🚀 About the Role

We’re working with a visionary performance agency in Leeds that’s investing heavily in its paid media offering, and they’re looking for a Head of Paid Social to lead the charge.

Paid social is a major growth area for the agency, which is exactly why they’re hiring at Head level. This is a genuine opportunity to own the paid social roadmap, shape how the service evolves and make it your own.

You’ll be hands on, planning, managing and optimising paid social activity across Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn and Pinterest for key clients, while working alongside the paid search and display teams as part of a wider paid media remit.

There’s one thing that really matters here: performance. You’ll come from a strong performance paid social background and be comfortable talking eCommerce, attribution and commercial results. But you’ll also understand brand and creative, and have the confidence to help clients move further up the funnel, recommend the right direction and explain exactly why it’s the right approach.

If you’re a commercially minded paid social leader who loves the blend of hard performance data and great creative, we’d love to hear from you.

🎯 What You’ll Be Doing

✅ Owning the agency’s paid social roadmap and keeping the team at the forefront of paid social innovation.

✅ Planning, managing and delivering paid social activity across Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn and Pinterest, with a sharp focus on performance and commercial results.

✅ Guiding clients beyond lower funnel activity into awareness, creative and brand building, building simplified roadmaps that show them how wider paid media investment will hit their objectives.

✅ Leading creative strategy for paid social, writing clear, platform native briefs for design, video and content teams, running regular creative reviews and spotting creative fatigue before it hits results.

✅ Building creative and audience testing frameworks across hooks, formats, messaging, UGC and creator content, then scaling what works.

✅ Owning audience, targeting and funnel strategy, including first party data, lookalike audiences and conversion tracking set up such as Conversions API.

✅ Training and mentoring the team, producing client reports with clear insight and commentary, and leading on forecasting, new business pitches and client presentations.

🌟 What You’ll Bring

✅ Extensive paid social experience, ideally within a performance focused agency, managing large scale, results driven campaigns with significant budgets.

✅ A strong performance background, with the ability to talk confidently about eCommerce, Shopify integrations, third party analytics, attribution and the commercial impact of your work.

✅ A solid understanding of brand and creative campaigns, and the credibility to lead clients on a full funnel journey.

✅ Proven experience briefing and reviewing creative, with a strong eye for what makes high performing, platform native paid social (video, static, UGC and creator content).

✅ A test and learn mindset, with experience designing creative and audience tests and turning the results into clear, actionable insight.

✅ Strong knowledge of Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Pinterest Ads and Snapchat Ads, plus tracking and reporting tools such as Meta Pixel, Conversions API, TikTok Events API, GA4 and Looker Studio.

✅ Direct line management experience, excellent communication skills and the confidence to set the standard for the team every day.

⭐ Bonus Points

⭐ Experience managing paid search, display and video campaigns, or knowledge of Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising and SA360.

⭐ Key platform certifications such as Meta Certified Media Buying Professional, TikTok or LinkedIn Marketing certifications.

⭐ Experience from a performance led agency known for eCommerce and commercially focused paid social.

Importantly, you don’t need to come from a big network agency. A strong performance track record, a real understanding of creative and the confidence to lead clients are what really matter here.
