Role Overview
Volaro Digital is looking for a freelance Meta Paid Media Specialist to support our team on an account-by-account basis.
This role is for an experienced Meta specialist who can quickly review client ad accounts, diagnose performance issues, and provide clear, practical recommendations to improve results.
We are not looking for a generalist. We need someone with deep Meta Ads experience who can open an account and quickly understand what is working, what is not working, and why.
You will review campaign structure, targeting, placements, creative performance, lead quality, tracking, landing page journeys and optimisation opportunities, then provide clear direction to our internal team.
This is a flexible fractional role, ideal for someone who works independently and can provide high-level paid media insight without needing long onboarding or hand-holding.

Key Responsibilities
1. Audit Meta Ad Accounts
Review Meta ad accounts on an account-by-account basis, assessing campaign setup, structure, targeting, placements, budget allocation, tracking, creative performance and overall efficiency.
You should be able to identify quickly whether performance issues are caused by setup, strategy, creative, audience, landing page journey, offer, tracking or another factor.
2. Diagnose What Is and Isn’t Working
Provide clear insight into why campaigns are performing well or underperforming.
This could include identifying issues such as weak creative, poor campaign structure, incorrect optimisation events, targeting problems, bad placements, poor lead quality, landing page friction, offer weakness, or inefficient budget distribution.
3. Recommend Practical Improvements
Give the team clear, actionable recommendations on what should be changed, tested or improved.
This may include recommendations around:
- Campaign structure
- Targeting and audience setup
- Placements
- Budget allocation
- Creative testing
- Copy and hook direction
- Lead forms versus landing pages
- Tracking and optimisation events
- Retargeting
- Funnel improvements
4. Support Testing Strategy
Help shape testing plans for Meta campaigns, including creative tests, audience tests, offer tests, placement tests and funnel tests.
We need someone who can tell us what to test next, why it matters, and how to structure the test properly.
5. Provide Specialist Meta Insight
Bring expert knowledge of Meta Ads best practice, platform changes and performance patterns.
You should be able to look at an account and quickly spot opportunities that a generalist may miss.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong specialist experience managing and optimising Meta Ads campaigns
- Ideally experienced within financial markets including knowledge of compliance
- A proven track record improving paid social performance
- Experience auditing live ad accounts and diagnosing issues quickly
- Strong knowledge of campaign structure, targeting, placements, optimisation events and tracking
- Good understanding of creative performance, hooks, messaging and ad formats
- Experience with lead generation campaigns
- Ability to assess whether campaigns should use instant forms, landing pages or other funnel routes
- Strong commercial judgement and an understanding of lead quality, not just lead volume
- Clear communication and the ability to give practical recommendations
- Confidence working independently on a fractional or freelance basis
How the Role Will Work
We will bring you in on an account-by-account basis when we need specialist support.
For example, we may ask you to review a Meta ad account for 30 to 60 minutes and provide a short breakdown of:
- What is working
- What is not working
- Why performance is where it is
- What needs to be changed
- What should be tested next
Depending on the account, this may lead to further support, ongoing optimisation input, or more regular fractional work.
